The Mountain Jews and the Nazi Occupation of Kabarda

I wrote an article about the Nazi occupation of Nalchik and tried to construct a timeline demonstrating how the Mountain Jews escaped being murdered. It was held up for a long time because of an intransigent reviewer who, when they finally submitted their comments, was completely unreasonable (and wrong) in many of the their criticisms. Since the “reviewer” did the same for every other article (and even the introduction!),
I and others involved in the project ultimately agreed the reviewer had some sort of agenda. I decided to pull my article, and it is finally available in English and Turkish in the Journal of Caucasus Studies (the name doesn’t translate well into English!) You can download the article here.
